Hello
In every school, facility and workplace our dogs are the highlight of the day. Often, it is the staff that benefits more than the kids! Together with our amazing teaching dogs, their stories and life lessons we have built Dog + Calm.
Each visit will enable staff to meet our dogs and participate in the most meaningful activities that address stress, resilience, teamwork and self worth.
the project
A Dog + Calm Project begins with introduction of the teaching dog and the foundation of The Healing Species.
Why do we only teach with rescued dogs? Why do we talk about healing the heart? What are the 3 steps?

pawsitive
Period
Our dogs immediately bring calm and happiness and research shows "pet therapy" lowers blood pressure. This is chill time.
pawsitudes
Let's do some simple art project that you can share with your students. Let's learn about dog massage. These activities are evidenced based therapies
woofs and wags
Introducing our dogs and their stories has always generated the sharing of your own pet's stories and life lessons.
Lend a paw
Choose a service project that gives everyone a sense of giving back. Each of our offerings can be done throughout the year or at the class.
Howl you doin?
Just as dogs show how they are feeling with their body language we ask what the day or week or month has been like.
